Home Learning Ideas - January 2021

Below are some home learning ideas to do with your child.  In addition, there are specific activities for your child's year group on their class page.


Websites for you to access

Wolverhampton Music School

The music teachers from Wolverhampton Music School are teaching music lessons for instruments on their YouTube channel.  This is ideal for children who are learning an instrument :



Accessing Library books online

Here are the steps to follow for the children to register as e-readers at Wolverhampton libraries. 
  1. If not already a member of the library service, visit and complete the online application form. You will be issued with a temporary membership number. 
    If already a member of the library service (with a library card but no current online access), visit Your pin number will be emailed within 24 hours. 
  2. Download 'BorrowBox' from the app store. 
  3. Open the app. 
    • Select Wolverhampton libraries.
    • Enter your 8-digit ID/bar code (the middle of your library card/temporary number).
    • Enter the pin number you have been given. 
    • An adult will need to review and agree to the Terms and Conditions. 
    • Enter your email address (for notifications of book availability).
  4. You now have access to 5 eAudiobooks and 5 eBooks at one time. If a book is marked as on loan and you wish to read it, reserve it and you will be notified when it is available.

Amazon free books

There are lots of free books available to download on Amazon. These books include Oxford Reading Tree books and maths teaching books. Follow the link below to look at the books available. You will then need to get the free Kindle reading app which is available for phone, tablet or computer so you are able to read the books you wish to download.
