Forest Schools

Subject Definition

Forest School provides opportunity for holistic development. It gives us the freedom to choose our own learning in a natural environment, instilling an understanding and empathy for our surroundings and the wider world. We learn new skills, such as whittling and fire lighting and build on them, gaining the ability to self-assess risk. Over time, we develop confidence and self-esteem and become more independent in our choices by being intrinsically motivated.
